Jackie’s Story: More Than Three Decades of Service

Jacqueline Griffin, known to many as Jackie or Jacqui, was born and raised in Philadelphia. Her journey with KenCCID began in July 1988 and has grown into a remarkable career centered on supporting and serving individuals with special needs.

Before joining KenCCID, Jackie had worked in several other positions. It wasn’t until she became part of the KenCCID family, however, that she discovered just how rewarding a career supporting individuals with special needs could be. She was initially hired as a Client Care Worker, a role known today as a Direct Care Professional (DCP).

As Jackie completed her training and probationary period, she quickly became comfortable with her responsibilities and developed a strong connection to KenCCID’s mission. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the individuals she supported and helping them express their wants and needs made the work especially meaningful to her.

Jackie quickly felt welcomed and accepted as part of the KenCCID family. Guided by her belief that “you reap what you sow,” she committed herself to her responsibilities while continually looking for opportunities to go above and beyond.

Her dedication soon led to new opportunities. Just one year after joining KenCCID, Jackie was promoted to Residential Program Supervisor, a position she held until 2001. She was then promoted to Quality Assurance Residential Director, where she continued serving the organization until 2010.

Jackie later made a lateral move to become a Quality Assurance Coordinator, serving in that role until 2013. She then transitioned to the position of Risk Quality Specialist before becoming Incident Manager in November 2016.

Throughout her many years with KenCCID, Jackie has taken on different responsibilities, grown professionally, and experienced the organization from many perspectives. Yet one thing has remained constant: her commitment to the individuals KenCCID serves.

For Jackie, the title of her position has never been what makes the work meaningful. No matter the role, the greatest reward has always been the opportunity to support individuals in KenCCID’s care and contribute to their well-being.

What began as a new job in 1988 became a fulfilling career and a lasting connection to the KenCCID family.
