At KenCCID, advocacy isn't something that happens just at the Capitol or during legislative session —it's something we do every day. Every conversation, every success story, and every milestone achieved by the individuals we support helps tell a larger story about the importance of quality services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At KenCCID, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, make choices about their own life, participate in their community, and receive the support they need to pursue their goals. That is why a recent letter from Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro to Pennsylvanians with disabilities, families, advocates, and allies is important to our community.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen in everyday conversations. KenCCID Community Engagement Coordinator Miles Cutler recently spent some time visiting Brenda and Roseanne at their home at Sheffield. The visit was filled with conversation, laughter and exciting updates about what’s happening in their lives.

At KenCCID, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity, discover new talents, and express themselves in meaningful ways. That’s why we are excited to announce that The Clay Studio’s Claymobile will be visiting KenCCID this August to provide an engaging, hands-on ceramics experience for the individuals we serve.

Volunteers are at the heart of KenCCID, bringing their time, talents, and compassion to create meaningful experiences for the individuals we serve. This month, we’re proud to celebrate Ally Sileo and the joy and creativity she brings to our Arts & Crafts Program. Lindsay enjoys the freedom and independence of choosing what she wants to cook and eat. Having the autonomy to make these everyday decisions allows her to express her personal preferences, build confidence, and take ownership of her daily routine.
