New Jobs, New Possibilities: Celebrating Pedro & Brittany!

Opportunity, Purpose & Connection Through Work
There is exciting employment news at KenCCID—and this time, we have two accomplishments to celebrate!
Pedro and Brittany have both been offered jobs in their communities, taking important steps toward greater independence, confidence, and connection through meaningful employment.
At KenCCID, moments like these are worth celebrating because employment is about much more than earning a paycheck. It can provide purpose, responsibility, new relationships, valuable skills, and the pride of contributing to the community.
Congratulations, Pedro!
We are excited to share that Pedro was offered a janitorial position at Walmart!
Pedro began the onboarding process and has been completing the required training for his new position. Once his onboarding and training are complete, he will receive his work schedule and begin this exciting new chapter.
The photos say it all—Pedro is getting familiar with his new workplace, completing his training, and preparing to take on his new responsibilities.
Congratulations, Pedro! We are so excited to see where this opportunity takes you.
Way to Go, Brittany!
And the great news doesn't stop there!
Brittany was offered a position as a Food & Beverage Ambassador at Sesame Place!
She has already completed her payroll information and is moving into the onboarding stage as she prepares for her new role.
Starting a new job brings new experiences, responsibilities, people, and opportunities to learn—and we couldn't be happier to celebrate this milestone with her.
When you see Brittany, be sure to give her a HUGE congratulations!
Competitive Integrated Employment: Turning Goals Into Opportunities
Many of the individuals KenCCID supports want the same opportunities as anyone else—to work, contribute their talents, earn income, develop professionally, and become more connected to their communities.
Through Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE), KenCCID helps individuals pursue meaningful employment based on their interests, abilities, and goals while connecting them with employers throughout the Philadelphia region.
Support can include job readiness and skills training, job coaching and on-the-job support, employer partnerships, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.
For individuals like Pedro and Brittany, the journey doesn't end with receiving a job offer. Learning a new workplace, completing training, developing job skills, building relationships with coworkers, and growing more confident in their responsibilities are all part of building success on the job.
Building a More Inclusive Workforce
Successful employment is also about partnership.
When businesses create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to demonstrate their abilities, they help build workplaces where talent, contribution, and potential are recognized.
KenCCID welcomes opportunities to connect dependable, motivated, and committed individuals with employers throughout the Philadelphia region.
